The Tanzania Premier League Board (TPLB) has imposed a raft of disciplinary measures on clubs, officials, players and supporters following a series of misconduct cases recorded in the NBC Premier League, Championship League and First League competitions.

In a statement issued on May 11, the League Management and Administration Committee announced fines, suspensions, point deductions and warnings aimed at safeguarding discipline and professionalism in domestic football.

Young Africans SC (Yanga) emerged among the heavily penalised clubs after being fined TZS 30 million for refusing to use the official dressing room allocated during their high-profile NBC Premier League clash against Simba SC on May 3, 2026, opting instead for a private house outside the stadium.

The club also received a strong warning after arriving late at the venue, reporting at 10:35 instead of the required 10:30.

Yanga team manager Walter Harson was suspended for three matches and fined TZS 1 million for pushing Simba midfielder Clatous Chama during the tense encounter.

Meanwhile, supporter Mohamed Ally Mposo was banned from entering any football stadium for 12 months after invading the pitch area during halftime and pouring liquids believed to be linked to superstitious practices.

Dodoma Jiji FC was fined TZS 5 million after its officials arrived late and without complete equipment at a pre-match coordination meeting ahead of their fixture against Mtibwa Sugar.

In the Championship League, Hausung FC faced the harshest punishment after failing to honour a scheduled match against Mbeya Kwanza without valid justification.

As a result, Mbeya Kwanza were awarded a 3-0 victory and three points, while Hausung FC was fined TZS 10 million and docked three points.

The club’s chairman, Erasto Haule, was further handed a one-year suspension over the incident.

Hausung FC had earlier been fined TZS 1 million after club officials arrived late at a Match Coordination Meeting before a separate fixture against Geita Gold.

TMA FC players also found themselves on the wrong side of league regulations over actions associated with superstitious conduct.

Player Said Kulwa was suspended for three matches and fined TZS 500,000 after pouring liquids on the pitch, while teammates Mohamed Lipangala and Joel Stephano were each suspended for three matches and fined the same amount for digging around the opponent’s goalposts.

In the First League, Alliance FC was fined TZS 500,000 after its officials failed to attend a mandatory pre-match meeting.

The club received an additional TZS 1 million fine after one of its supporters allegedly stormed the field and punched centre referee Julius Ottu in the face.

Magnet FC was fined TZS 2 million after club officials refused to participate in a Match Coordination Meeting despite being present at the venue, claiming they were waiting for official communication from TPLB.

The club also received a strong warning for reporting late to the stadium during its match against Green Warriors.

Moro Kids were similarly issued with a strong warning after arriving late for their fixture against Nyumbu FC.

TPLB said the sanctions reflect the board’s commitment to protecting integrity, order and professionalism in Tanzanian football as the domestic season approaches its decisive stages.
