The Director General of the Tanzania Civil Aviation Authority (TCAA), Dr. Jabiri K. Bakari, on May 19, 2026 held consultative meetings with stakeholders in the aviation sector aimed at strengthening service delivery and improving the overall performance of the industry.

The meetings took place at the TCAA Headquarters in Banana, Ukonga, Dar es Salaam, and were organized in two separate sessions.

The morning session brought together owners and operators of domestic airlines, while the afternoon session included representatives of foreign airlines operating in Tanzania.

The engagement provided a platform for open and constructive dialogue between the TCAA leadership and stakeholders.

Participants shared experiences, raised concerns, and highlighted various operational and regulatory challenges affecting the aviation sector.

In his opening remarks, Dr. Bakari introduced himself to the stakeholders and reaffirmed his commitment, together with the TCAA management, to ensure the continued growth and efficiency of the aviation industry in Tanzania.

He emphasized that collaboration with stakeholders remains central to achieving sustainable development in the sector.

He further explained that TCAA is working on improving and harmonizing its systems to simplify business processes, reduce delays, and enhance service efficiency.

He urged stakeholders to cooperate with the authority during the implementation of these reforms to ensure smooth execution.

Dr. Bakari also announced plans by TCAA to introduce a dedicated toll-free number and a specialized customer service desk.

The initiative is intended to strengthen communication, improve responsiveness, and ensure that stakeholders’ concerns are addressed in a timely manner.

During the discussions, stakeholders presented a range of suggestions and challenges affecting their operations.

These included regulatory procedures, service efficiency, and coordination between different aviation actors.

Responding to the concerns, Dr. Bakari assured stakeholders that all issues raised have been noted and will be carefully reviewed by the authority’s management.

He reiterated TCAA’s commitment to working closely with industry players to find practical solutions that support the sustainable growth of aviation in the country.

He further stressed that TCAA remains committed to ensuring that Tanzania’s aviation sector continues to expand and improve in line with global standards.

He noted that just as aviation services operate around the clock, the authority is also committed to providing continuous support to stakeholders.

The stakeholder engagement sessions are expected to continue as part of TCAA’s ongoing efforts to strengthen collaboration and improve the business environment within the aviation industry.
