Inspector General of Police (IGP) Camillus Wambura has assured Tanzanian youth that the Police Force will continue widening employment opportunities for qualified young people from across the country as part of efforts to build an inclusive and representative institution.
Speaking during the graduation ceremony for Police Officers and Assistant Inspectors, Course No. 1 of 2025/2026, held at Kurasini in Dar es Salaam and officiated by President Samia Suluhu Hassan, IGP Wambura said the force is committed to ensuring fairness and equal access to recruitment opportunities.
He noted that the initiative aims to remove discrimination in employment within security institutions while giving young Tanzanians from different social and economic backgrounds a chance to serve the nation.
According to IGP Wambura, the recently concluded training at the Police School Moshi demonstrated the success of the programme after 5,514 recruits completed their initial police training and officially joined the force.
He said some of the recruits came from orphanage centres and low-income families but were able to secure positions after meeting the required qualifications.
“We have recruited young people with Form Four, Form Six and university education qualifications. Our goal is to ensure opportunities reach all deserving Tanzanians without discrimination, while enabling youth to build their future through employment and national service,” said IGP Wambura.
The police chief also assured President Samia that the force will continue implementing transparent and merit-based recruitment processes in the future to ensure equal opportunities for qualified applicants across the country.
