Prime Minister Mwigulu Nchemba on Saturday inaugurated the Kibakwe Produce Market in Mpwapwa District, Dodoma Region, in a project expected to improve trading conditions for farmers and small-scale traders in the area.
The market, which has been developed to provide a formal and secure trading environment, is aimed at boosting agricultural business by offering reliable infrastructure for the buying and selling of produce.
Addressing residents after laying the foundation stone for the market’s opening, Dr. Mwigulu praised President Samia Suluhu Hassan for what he described as continued commitment to implementing people-centred development projects across the country.
He said the President has distinguished herself through delivering projects that directly touch the lives of ordinary Tanzanians, particularly in sectors that support economic growth and livelihoods.
“President Samia is a leader who delivers results. When she makes a promise, she ensures it is implemented, and this can be seen through the major development projects being carried out across the country,” he said.
The Prime Minister noted that ongoing investments in infrastructure and public services are helping to strengthen the country’s economy while creating better opportunities for citizens, especially farmers and traders in rural areas.
He added that the government remains committed to improving market access and business environments as part of broader efforts to raise incomes and support sustainable development.
The Kibakwe Produce Market is expected to reduce challenges faced by farmers in accessing organised trading spaces while enhancing efficiency in the agricultural value chain in Dodoma Region.
