Administrative and human resource officials have been urged to ensure effective implementation of government reforms aimed at strengthening public service delivery and improving the welfare of workers across Tanzania.

Speaking during a meeting held at the AICC Hall in Arusha, Ridhiwani Kikwete emphasized that the success of ongoing reforms depends on proper execution of responsibilities within human resource and administrative systems.

He noted that efficient management of public service structures is essential for improving accountability, productivity, and service delivery to citizens.

He made the remarks in the context of recent government measures designed to enhance the public service sector, including large-scale promotions, salary adjustments, and improvements in minimum wage structures.

One of the key reforms highlighted is the promotion of 219,042 public servants, a major step intended to strengthen career development and improve motivation within government institutions.

The move is part of broader efforts to modernize and streamline the public service system.

In addition, the government implemented a 35.1 percent salary increase for public servants in 2025. The adjustment is aimed at improving the living standards of employees and aligning compensation with current economic realities.

The private sector has also been included in the reforms, with the minimum wage increased by 33.4 percent for the 2025/26 financial year.

This adjustment is expected to benefit workers across multiple industries and support overall economic stability.

Kikwete said these reforms are expected to have a wide impact across key sectors of the economy, including health, education, agriculture, communication, transport, energy, industry, trade, hospitality, sports, fisheries, maritime services, mining, and culture.

He explained that improvements in the welfare of workers in these sectors will contribute directly to better services for citizens.

He stressed that administrative and human resource officers play a central role in ensuring that reforms are implemented fairly, transparently, and without unnecessary delays.

According to him, proper execution of procedures is critical in translating government policies into tangible benefits for workers and the public.

He further noted that effective public service management is key to strengthening institutional performance and ensuring that citizens receive timely and quality services.

The meeting in Arusha brought together officials responsible for human resource management and public administration to review the implementation of ongoing reforms and reinforce their role in improving service delivery in the public sector.
