A financial institution has expressed pride after receiving national recognition for its role in promoting innovation, protecting intellectual property, and supporting the growth of the sports sector in Tanzania.

The recognition was presented by the Business Registrations and Licensing Agency BRELA during the celebrations of World Intellectual Property Day, an annual event that highlights the importance of intellectual property in driving creativity, innovation, and economic development.

The award recognized the institution as one of the key financial players actively contributing to the advancement of intellectual property awareness and the development of sports in the country.

It also reflects growing efforts to link financial services with innovation-driven sectors, particularly youth-focused industries such as sports.

Speaking after receiving the award, the institution said the recognition is a strong endorsement of its long-term commitment to supporting innovators, protecting creative ideas, and investing in initiatives that promote the sports sector.

The institution noted that innovation and intellectual property protection are essential pillars for sustainable economic growth, adding that it will continue to strengthen programmes that empower young innovators and sports stakeholders across the country.

It further acknowledged its partners and stakeholders for their continued collaboration, saying their support has played a key role in achieving the milestone.

The recognition by BRELA is part of broader national efforts to build a strong innovation ecosystem that encourages creativity, supports business growth, and enhances Tanzania’s competitiveness in emerging sectors, including sports and creative industries.
