Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Energy responsible for Electricity and Renewable Energy, Engineer Felchesmi Mramba, has visited the Embassy of the United Republic of Tanzania in Maputo, Mozambique, where he held discussions with Acting Ambassador Tammy Kajigili.
Engineer Mramba was in Mozambique to participate in the 12th Mining and Energy Conference 2026, which concluded on May 7, 2026.
The conference brought together African energy stakeholders to explore investment opportunities and strengthen cooperation in the mining and energy sectors across the continent.
During his visit to the Embassy, Engineer Mramba held discussions focused on strengthening coordination between Tanzania’s diplomatic mission and energy sector institutions in promoting national interests abroad.
The talks emphasized the need to enhance investment promotion, expand regional cooperation, and ensure Tanzania benefits from emerging opportunities in the energy sector.
He noted that embassies play a key role in connecting Tanzania with international investors and supporting participation in strategic regional and continental platforms.
He further stressed the importance of collaboration in advancing investments in electricity, oil and gas, and renewable energy.
At the Embassy, Engineer Mramba was accompanied by Khalifan Khalifan, Chairperson of the Board of the Petroleum Upstream Regulatory Authority (PURA), Engineer Charles Sangweni, Director General of PURA, as well as technical experts from the Ministry of Energy and PURA.
The delegation also discussed ways to strengthen institutional support for Tanzanian stakeholders engaging in international energy forums and improving the country’s visibility in investment discussions.
Tanzania continues to engage actively in regional and international energy platforms as part of its strategy to attract investment, strengthen energy security, and promote sustainable development through enhanced cooperation.
