Chem Chem Safari enters global partnership with Auberge Collection

By The Respondents Reporter

Chem Chem Safari, the Tanzanian safari operator known for pioneering the Slow Safari philosophy, has entered into a strategic partnership with Auberge Collection under its Auberge Safari brand, a move aimed at expanding its global visibility while preserving its conservation-driven identity.

The collaboration brings Chem Chem Safari’s three properties under the Auberge Safari umbrella, strengthening the operator’s positioning in the international luxury travel market without changing its ownership structure or core philosophy.

Located between Lake Manyara National Park and Tarangire National Park in northern Tanzania, Chem Chem Safari has built its reputation on a tourism model that encourages travellers to slow down, stay longer, and engage more meaningfully with nature, wildlife, and surrounding communities.

This approach, known as the Slow Safari philosophy, has been widely recognised within specialist safari circles.

The company operates three distinct properties. Chem Chem Lodge offers a relaxed and refined bush retreat experience.

Little Chem Chem is designed as an intimate tented camp that reflects a classic safari atmosphere.

Forest Chem Chem, the most exclusive of the three, provides private-use accommodation in a secluded woodland environment, offering high levels of privacy and immersion in nature.

Despite the new partnership, Chem Chem Safari has confirmed that its operational independence, conservation programmes, and community commitments will remain unchanged.

At the centre of its operations is conservation work led through the Chem Chem Association, which supports the protection of the Kwakuchinja Wildlife Corridor.

The corridor is a key ecological route linking Tarangire and Lake Manyara, and plays a vital role in the movement of elephants and other wildlife species across the ecosystem.

The organisation also implements community development initiatives in surrounding villages, focusing on education, healthcare, and sustainable livelihoods.

These programmes are designed to ensure that local communities benefit directly from tourism and conservation activities in the region.

According to the company, the partnership with Auberge Collection will help introduce Chem Chem Safari to a wider international audience while maintaining the authenticity of its guest experience and its long-standing commitment to responsible tourism.

Auberge Collection, a global portfolio of luxury hotels, resorts, safari camps, residences, and private clubs across three continents, is known for its emphasis on destination-driven hospitality.

Each property in its portfolio is designed to reflect the culture, landscape, and identity of its location while delivering personalised service and curated guest experiences.

Through the Auberge Safari platform, Chem Chem Safari will now be positioned within a global network of high-end travel experiences, targeting travellers seeking immersive and meaningful encounters with nature.

Both partners have described the collaboration as a way of strengthening storytelling in safari tourism while ensuring that conservation and local engagement remain central to the guest experience.

Chem Chem Safari reaffirmed that its guiding principles conservation, community partnership, and the Slow Safari philosophy will continue to define its operations even as it expands its international reach.

The partnership is expected to enhance the visibility of Tanzania’s northern safari circuit and reinforce the country’s position as a leading destination for sustainable luxury tourism.
