Young Africans Sports Club have stepped up preparations ahead of their decisive NBC Premier League encounter against Mbeya City FC, set for April 16 at the KMC Complex Stadium.

With the title race entering a critical stage, Yanga are determined to secure all three points at home to maintain momentum in their bid to defend the league crown.

The two sides played out a draw in their first-round meeting in Mbeya, a result that Yanga are keen to improve on as they host the return fixture.

Yanga’s Head of Information and Communications, Ally Kamwe, said the team is fully focused and motivated to deliver a winning performance in front of their home fans.

He stressed that the players have shown strong commitment in training and are mentally prepared for the challenge.

“We shared points in the first leg away in Mbeya, but this time we are at home and targeting nothing less than three points. It will require effort, discipline and determination,” Kamwe said.

On team news, Kamwe confirmed that the squad is in good condition, with key players available for selection. He highlighted the return of first-choice goalkeeper Djigui Diarra, who is back after serving a three-match suspension and is expected to strengthen the team’s defence.

As the league campaign intensifies, Yanga will be aiming to capitalise on home advantage and avoid any slip-ups, knowing that every point is vital in the race for the championship.
