Simba, Azam clash in crucial Premier League battle for three points

Simba SC will tomorrow face Azam FC in a crucial match of the Tanzania Premier League scheduled to take place at the Azam Complex Stadium in Chamazi, Dar es Salaam.

The encounter is expected to produce an intense contest as both sides battle for three vital points in their pursuit of a stronger position in the league standings.

Simba head into the match determined to secure victory in order to narrow the gap with the league leaders, while Azam will be aiming to use home advantage to collect maximum points and strengthen their push toward the top of the table.

Speaking during a press briefing on April 4, 2026, Simba head coach Steve Barker said his players understand the importance of the fixture and have prepared thoroughly.

“We know Azam are a strong team with quality players, but we have prepared well and we are focused on getting the win,” said Barker.

Simba defender Shomari Kapombe said the players are motivated and ready to fight for victory.

“We assure our fans that we will give our best on the pitch and fight for the three important points,” said Kapombe.

On their side, Azam head coach Florent Ibenge acknowledged Simba’s strength but said his team is fully prepared for the challenge.

“Simba are a big club with experienced players. We respect them, but we are ready for a tough and competitive match and we want to win at home,” said Ibenge.

Azam midfielder Nathaniel Chilambo said the players are ready to execute the technical team’s instructions as they aim to deliver a positive result.

The match is expected to attract strong interest from football fans as the two sides compete for valuable points in the ongoing league campaign.
