Mineral indicative prices for April 27,2026

The latest indicative mineral prices released by the Mining Commission of Tanzania show strong global market performance for key minerals, with gold, silver and copper maintaining high values in both international and domestic markets as of April 27, 2026.

According to the commission, the global price of gold reached 4,726.95 US dollars per troy ounce, equivalent to 397,668.05 Tanzanian shillings per gram.

In the local market, the mineral market price was set at 357,901.25 shillings per gram, while the recommended buying centre price stood at 349,947.89 shillings per gram.

Silver also recorded notable prices, trading at 75.81 US dollars per troy ounce globally. This translates to 6,377.73 shillings per gram in the world market, with the domestic mineral market price at 5,739.96 shillings and the buying centre price at 5,612.40 shillings per gram.

For copper, the global price was recorded at 6.02 US dollars per pound. When converted, this equals 34.73 shillings per gram, while the mineral market price in Tanzania stood at 31.26 shillings and the buying centre price at 30.56 shillings per gram.

The indicative prices are issued regularly to guide transactions in the mining sector and ensure transparency between small-scale miners, traders and licensed buying centres.

The buying centre price represents the minimum recommended rate that traders should pay to small-scale miners at officially designated purchasing points.

Globally, gold and silver are measured in troy ounces, while copper is traded in pounds. However, for local transactions in Tanzania, all prices are converted into grams and expressed in Tanzanian shillings to align with domestic trading practices.

The continued stability of mineral prices is expected to support Tanzania’s mining sector, which remains one of the key contributors to foreign exchange earnings and economic growth.
