ACT Wazalendo has confirmed that it has entered into political dialogue aimed at safeguarding peace, strengthening unity, and promoting national stability in Zanzibar, with party leaders emphasizing that the process is driven by long-term national interests.
The party’s National Chairperson, Othman Masoud Othman, said the decision to participate in the dialogue was made after careful consideration of the political situation, with the aim of supporting reconciliation and fostering a more inclusive governance framework.
Speaking in Pandani during the opening of a constituency constitutional general meeting, Othman said the party agreed to engage in dialogue despite past political differences, noting that constructive engagement remains essential for political progress and stability.
He said the ongoing discussions are focused on strengthening unity and improving governance structures, adding that progress has been made with growing understanding among stakeholders on the need for cohesion and shared national direction.
Othman urged ACT Wazalendo members to maintain unity and discipline, saying internal cohesion is a key pillar of the party’s political strength.
He noted that the party is committed not only to electoral competition but also to promoting governance based on accountability, ethics, and institutional development.
He further called on party leaders to strengthen organizational structures, regularly assess their performance, and reinforce grassroots branches, which he described as the backbone of the party.
He stressed that sustainable political progress depends on active participation of members at all levels.
Othman also encouraged leaders to remain engaged with communities, address concerns raised at the grassroots level, and strengthen communication between leadership and the public as part of broader political development efforts.
In the same event, he handed over one of four vehicles donated jointly by Member of Parliament Muhammed Khalfan and Member of the House of Representatives Prof. Omar Fakih Hamad for social service activities across the four shehias of Pandani constituency, aimed at improving service delivery at local level.
ACT Wazalendo Deputy Secretary General for Zanzibar, Omar Ali Shehe, said strong constituencies and active party branches remain central to the party’s growth and effectiveness.
He encouraged other regions to continue holding constitutional meetings to strengthen internal structures and coordination.
He said such meetings demonstrate organizational maturity and leadership commitment within the party.
Wete Region Chairperson Juma Khamis Ali also called on members to strengthen unity and cooperation, saying collective effort is essential in achieving party objectives and advancing organizational development.
The meeting marked the official launch of ACT Wazalendo’s constituency constitutional meetings across Tanzania, signaling a renewed focus on internal strengthening, organizational consolidation, and structured political engagement.
