Tanzania is set to strengthen its position in the global trade arena as TanTrade drives the digital transformation of the country’s business sector through the innovative CART.IS Initiative.

The program is designed to simplify trade processes, reduce bureaucracy, and provide faster, more reliable services to businesses.

By integrating systems across multiple institutions and implementing paperless procedures, CART.IS enables businesses to operate more efficiently while saving both time and costs.

The platform also strengthens transparency and accountability, creating a business-friendly environment that attracts investors and boosts economic growth.

TanTrade’s Director General, Dr. Latifa Mohamed Khamis, highlighted the initiative’s significance, saying that it positions Tanzania as a competitive player in regional and international markets.

“Through CART.IS, we are modernizing trade services, ensuring they are accessible, dependable, and aligned with global standards,” she noted.

The program comes at a time when digital solutions are increasingly critical for economic growth. By leveraging technology, Tanzania aims to reduce administrative bottlenecks, promote ease of doing business, and encourage private sector participation in trade and investment.

With CART.IS, businesses can now access key services seamlessly, from registration to compliance, while enjoying quicker processing times and reduced operational costs.

This transformation reflects Tanzania’s commitment to embracing innovation as a driver of sustainable economic development.

As the initiative gains momentum, stakeholders expect it to not only improve domestic trade efficiency but also enhance Tanzania’s reputation as a digital trade hub in Africa, opening doors for new investments and partnerships across the continent.
