The Parliamentary Committee on Public Investment (PIC) has visited the Third Phase of the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project, covering the route from the city center to Gongo la Mboto, to review progress on this strategic infrastructure initiative. The visit was led by the Committee Chairperson, Masanja Kadogosa.
The BRT system is part of the government’s effort to ease traffic congestion and improve daily commuting for Dar es Salaam residents.
Implemented in six phases, the project has become a cornerstone of the city’s public transport plan, offering faster, safer, and more reliable travel for thousands of citizens every day.
During the visit, Hon. Kadogosa praised President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan for her timely financial support, noting that the funding has enabled the Third Phase to reach 99% completion.
Construction of stations and concrete roads is nearly finished, bringing the city closer to a modern, efficient public transport system.
The Committee stressed the importance of protecting and maintaining the BRT infrastructure to ensure long-term benefits for all residents, underlining the project’s role in making urban travel smoother and more convenient for citizens.
