Women in Manyara Region have commended Regional Commissioner Queen Cuthbert Sendiga for her exemplary leadership and dedication to good governance in the region.
RC Sendiga received the award from Simanjiro District Commissioner Fakii Lulandala during the regional celebrations of International Women’s Day held at Orkirung’rung Village in Edonyongijape Ward.
DC Lulandala highlighted that the award recognizes RC Sendiga’s strong leadership and commitment to ensuring that the people of Manyara enjoy peace, development, and well-being.
“The women of Manyara Region have acknowledged your dedication and tireless efforts to serve the community, ensuring that it prospers and lives in harmony,” DC Lulandala said.
In her acceptance speech, RC Sendiga expressed gratitude to the women for recognizing her contribution and presenting the award.
She urged women to employ multiple strategies, rather than relying on a single approach, to achieve development both within their families and in society at large.
“A woman should strive to create positive change everywhere she is. You don’t have to be a formal leader for the world to improve through your actions,” RC Sendiga emphasized.
She also encouraged women to excel in all areas, including economic empowerment, leadership, education, child-rearing, and addressing malnutrition and disabilities among children.
RC Sendiga further noted the importance of women supporting men in households, despite societal challenges. “Even when fathers leave home hungry and spend time idly, women should continue to care for them,” she said.
Belinda Sumari, who read a statement during the event, noted that while government efforts have empowered women economically, they have also received education on child care, women’s rights, and combating violence.
However, she added that many women and girls still face challenges due to a lack of capital to start small businesses in the area.
Sumari praised Manyara women for continuing to pursue their dreams and their children’s ambitions despite obstacles, describing every challenge as a stepping stone toward greater success.
Certificates of recognition were also awarded to local development stakeholders Taiko Kulunju and Mula Sanare Lesiangiki for their support in making the celebrations a success.
