Lekashingo urges women to act now, not wait for year-end to change their lives

Women employees have been urged to start making positive changes in their lives immediately instead of waiting for the end of the year to set new goals.

The call was made by Janet Lekashingo, chairperson of the Mining Commission, during an Iftar dinner organised by women staff of the commission at its headquarters in Dodoma.

Speaking during the gathering, Dr Lekashingo said success often begins with small steps taken with discipline and consistency over a short period of time.

She advised women not to wait for the start of a new year to set personal goals, noting that meaningful change can begin at any moment if individuals decide to act.

Instead, she encouraged them to reflect on what they could achieve within the next 12 weeks to improve their health, strengthen their skills or bring positive change to their lives.

Dr Lekashingo said many people believe major changes require a long period of planning, but in reality they can happen within a short time when someone works with discipline, commitment and clear focus.

“If a person sets clear goals and remains committed to them, significant change can happen within a short time,” she said.

She added that success should not be viewed as a matter of luck but rather the outcome of discipline, hard work and personal responsibility.

Dr Lekashingo also urged women to take control of their own destinies instead of allowing others to decide the direction of their lives.

According to her, a determined woman with clear vision has the power to transform not only her own life but also the lives of others and even future generations.

She further stressed the importance of building a lasting legacy through work, encouraging employees to reflect on whether, in the next 10 or 20 years, their contribution to the mining sector will be remembered.

The Iftar gathering was also attended by commissioners from the Mining Commission, including Theresia Numbi and Theonestina Mwasha.

They commended women employees of the commission for their unity, dedication and hard work, while encouraging them to continue putting God first in everything they do.
