KMC FC head coach Mohamed Abdallah Bares has said the team is preparing friendly matches as part of efforts to secure its place in the NBC Premier League next season.
KMC currently sits at the bottom of the league standings, a situation that has forced the club to intensify preparations as it seeks to avoid relegation when the competition resumes.
Speaking to The Respondent Online, Bares said the team has arranged two friendly matches against lower-division sides to assess the squad before the start of the second round of the league.
According to the coach, one of the matches is scheduled to be played on Friday against B19 FC, with the fixtures expected to provide an opportunity to evaluate players and identify areas that require improvement.
He explained that the matches will help the technical bench measure the readiness of the players and introduce tactical adjustments aimed at strengthening the team’s competitiveness in the remaining fixtures of the season.
“For now our situation is not good due to the results we obtained in the first round. We have held discussions with the club leadership to review the challenges we are facing and identify solutions,” said Bares.
The coach also revealed that KMC is planning to recruit new players during the transfer window to reinforce the squad and improve performance in the second round of the campaign.
Despite the difficulties the team has experienced, Bares expressed optimism that KMC can recover and secure survival in the top-flight league.
“We are fighting to move away from the position we are currently in. We believe that with hard work and God’s help we will manage to remain in the Premier League,” he said.
