Finance Minister Ambassador Khamis Mussa Omar (MP) on Monday met with a high-level delegation from Dangote Tanzania, led by CEO Adeyemi Fajobi, to discuss ways of boosting investment in cement production and strengthening industrial development in Tanzania.
The meeting, held at the Ministry of Finance’s sub-office in Dar es Salaam, focused on exploring opportunities to expand manufacturing capacity, create jobs, and promote sustainable industrial growth.
Ambassador Omar underscored the government’s commitment to providing an enabling environment for investors, highlighting the crucial role of the industrial sector in driving economic transformation and supporting Tanzania’s long-term development agenda.
The discussions also emphasized partnership between the public and private sectors to scale up production, improve efficiency, and attract further investment.
The meeting brought together senior officials, including the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Finance, Natu El-maamry Mwamba, Dangote Tanzania’s Chief Financial Officer, Eric Kironde, company advisor Adelhelm Meru, the Finance Minister’s Secretary, Abeid Mzee, and economist Mustapha Muhiddin from the ministry’s Policy Analysis Department.
This engagement signals Tanzania’s ongoing efforts to strengthen collaboration with strategic investors and position the country as a competitive hub for industrial development in Africa.
