Boxing fans and sports lovers in Dar es Salaam have been invited to attend the Dar es Salaam Regional Open Boxing Championship scheduled to begin tomorrow at the CCM Mwananyamala Hall in Dar es Salaam.

The Chairman of the Dar es Salaam Amateur Boxing Association (DABA), Akaroly Godfrey, called on residents and boxing enthusiasts to come out in large numbers to witness the competition and support the development of the sport.

Godfrey said the championship aims to provide entertainment to fans while also serving as a learning platform for those interested in understanding and appreciating the sport of boxing.

He explained that the tournament is also designed to identify and nurture new boxing talents that will be developed to strengthen the future pool of athletes for both the region and the nation.

“We urge all boxers to demonstrate the skills they gained during their preparation period so that we can witness competitive fights that will inspire the growth of boxing in Dar es Salaam,” he said.

According to Godfrey, the competition forms part of DABA’s broader efforts to promote boxing and provide young fighters with opportunities to gain competitive experience.
