Youth urged to believe in their dreams and embrace positive information

By The Respondents Reporter

The Minister of State in the President’s Office for Youth Development, Joel Arthur Nanauka, has called on Tanzanian youth to believe in their dreams and shield themselves from negative information.

He noted that over 85 percent of the information received by young people in the country is often discouraging.

Speaking at a youth conference in Tabora, Nanauka stressed that opportunities are only visible to those who dream, and that knowledge and proactive engagement are key to transforming lives.

“If you have a dream, do not let anyone decide your steps. You know your dream best believe in it and fight for it. Ninety-five percent of the information we encounter is negative, and one of the greatest responsibilities for youth is to focus on positive information. Positive information shapes your future,” he said.

The Ministry of Youth Development, established by President Dkt. Samia Suluhu Hassan, continues to lead initiatives aimed at empowering youth economically, socially, and professionally.

Programs include loans through the Youth Development Fund, entrepreneurship training, enhanced participation in wealth-creation activities, and partnerships with development stakeholders to broaden access to employment, innovation, technology, and skills development aligned with current job market demands.
