Tanzanian Investor Pumps TZS30 Billion into Rukwa drinks factory

A Tanzanian entrepreneur has invested TZS30 billion in Rukwa Region, leveraging incentives offered by the Tanzania Investment and Special Economic Zones Authority (TISEZA).

The project, operated through Dew Drop Drinks Company Limited in Sumbawanga District, produces bottled drinking water and soft drinks.

During a visit by the national campaign promoting local investment, the company’s Managing Director, Mr. Aziz Mohamed Soud, said the factory was established after registering with TISEZA and receiving an investment certificate that unlocked key incentives.

Mr. Soud highlighted a 75 percent duty exemption on imported vehicles, machinery, and equipment used in production. “This relief reduced our initial costs and accelerated the project’s implementation,” he said.

The factory now produces 30,000 bottles of drinking water per hour and employs 260 Tanzanians, boosting local employment and contributing to the economic growth of Rukwa Region and the nation.

Mr. Fidelis Obanga, TISEZA’s Southern Highlands Regional Manager, called on Rukwa residents and all Tanzanians to explore local investment opportunities and seek guidance from the authority.

He stressed that TISEZA is ready to provide professional support to investors wishing to start or expand their businesses, ensuring they fully benefit from government incentives.

Mr. Obanga also invited entrepreneurs in Rukwa to attend an investment seminar tomorrow at the Regional Commissioner’s office, coinciding with the launch of an Investment Desk that will bring services closer to the community
