TISEZA launches nationwide drive to boost domestic investment

By The Respondents Reporter

The Tanzania Investment and Special Economic Zones Authority (TISEZA) has officially launched a National Campaign to promote domestic investment, running from January 18 to April 9, 2026.

The initiative forms part of the National Five-Year Development Plan and CCM’s 2025–2030 Election Manifesto, reflecting President Samia Suluhu Hassan’s vision of opening the country to both local and foreign investment.

The campaign aims to change the long-standing perception that investment is only for foreigners, empowering Tanzanians to seize available opportunities.

Through awareness and education, it will guide citizens on investment prospects in different regions, project registration procedures, access to licences and certificates, and fiscal and non-fiscal incentives under both general and special investment schemes.

The programme began in Geita Region, where Regional Commissioner Martin Shigella met with the TISEZA team led by Board Chair Ambassador Dr. Ponary Mlima to review investment opportunities in the region.

Targeting youths, entrepreneurs, small and medium enterprises (SMEs), traders, journalists, and government officials responsible for industry and investment, the campaign will feature visits to Tanzanian-owned projects, investment seminars, conferences, the launch of regional investment service centres, and mapping of industrial parks in all districts.

The 2026 campaign slogan, “You Are Empowered to Invest Through Capital Relief,” highlights TISEZA’s commitment to supporting domestic investors.

It promises easier access to partners, attractive incentives, free land in Special Economic Zones such as Bagamoyo, Kwala and Nala, and assistance in securing licences, permits, and international markets.

Through this drive, TISEZA seeks to strengthen local investment as a catalyst for industrial growth, job creation, and sustainable economic development in Tanzania.
