The Government of Tanzania has announced a TZS 2 billion (approximately USD 780,000) fund to support digital content creators across the country.
Speaking on January 29, 2026, in Dodoma, the Minister for Information, Culture, Arts and Sports, Paul Makonda, said the initiative aims to strengthen the creative economy by enabling content creators to improve the quality of their work and generate sustainable income through digital platforms.
The fund, provided by President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Her Excellency Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, will benefit creators in sectors including tourism, sports, media, social development, music, film, and other creative arts.
Registration for eligible applicants will run from January 30 to February 15, 2026.
