Parliamentary infrastructure committee receives reports from ministry of works agencies

The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Infrastructure on January 22, 2026, received and discussed reports on the structure and functions of agencies under the Ministry of Works, including the Tanzania Roads Agency (TANROADS), Tanzania Electrical, Mechanical and Electronics Services Agency (TEMESA), Tanzania Building Agency (TBA), and the Road Fund Board (RFB). 

The reports were presented by Minister of Construction, Abdallah Ulega.

In his presentation, Minister Ulega expressed gratitude to President Samia Suluhu Hassan for continued financial support for construction projects across the country. 

He noted that these investments have contributed to national development and created economic opportunities for both individuals and the nation as a whole.

Minister Ulega also pledged to work closely with the committee, taking into account its recommendations to improve performance, strengthen accountability, and ensure that public funds are safeguarded and utilized effectively.

The discussions reflect the government’s ongoing commitment to enhancing the efficiency and transparency of key construction and infrastructure agencies, ensuring that development projects deliver tangible benefits to citizens.
