The Mining Commission of Tanzania has released new indicative prices for gold and silver, providing a clear guide for miners, traders, and investors in the country’s mineral sector.

According to the Commission, the world market price of gold stands at USD 4,968 per troy ounce, equivalent to Tanzania Shillings (TZS) 398,320 per gram. Within the local market, the mineral market price is set at TZS 358,488 per gram, while the buying centre price is TZS 350,522 per gram.

For silver, the world market price is USD 98.82 per troy ounce, translating to TZS 7,923 per gram. Locally, the mineral market price is TZS 7,131 per gram, with buying centres offering TZS 6,972 per gram.

The indicative prices are intended to guide miners and traders on fair transactions while reflecting global market trends. They also play a key role in ensuring transparency and stability in Tanzania’s mineral trade.
