Minister of Home Affairs, Patrobas Katambi, has pledged to carry out his duties with utmost honesty and integrity, promising to support the Judiciary and Parliament in ensuring justice across the Police, Prisons, Fire and Rescue, and Immigration services.
Speaking today in Dodoma after being sworn in as Chairperson of the Police, Prisons, Fire and Rescue, and Immigration Commission, Minister Katambi emphasized his commitment to serving Tanzanians faithfully and upholding the rule of law.
Deputy Minister Ayoub Mohamed Mahmoud, who assumed the role of Vice-Chairperson, highlighted President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan’s vision of dedicated service to the people of Tanzania.
“Our work is guided by the President’s commitment to putting citizens first and ensuring that government institutions operate effectively and transparently,” he said.
Justice Suleiman Haji Hassan, who presided over the swearing-in ceremony, congratulated the newly appointed leaders and urged them to remain accountable, transparent, and fair in their roles, noting that their leadership will be critical in enhancing public trust in the security and immigration sectors.
The Commission is tasked with overseeing key national institutions, including the Police Force, Prisons, Fire and Rescue Services, and Immigration Department, ensuring that justice is delivered efficiently and that Tanzanians receive fair treatment under the law.
Minister Katambi and Deputy Minister Mahmoud’s appointments reflect the government’s ongoing efforts to strengthen leadership in crucial security and administrative sectors, reinforcing principles of accountability, transparency, and service to citizens.
