The Tanzania Police Force has called on citizens to actively reject messages and actions that promote division, falsehoods, hatred, or violence, stressing the importance of maintaining peace and security across the country.
In a statement released to the media on Thursday, December 11, 2025, Police Spokesperson Deputy Commissioner David Misime warned against spreading content that incites communities.
He specifically urged the public to delete such messages on social media platforms, including WhatsApp, instead of sharing them.
“The Police Force, working together with other security organs, remains committed to protecting the nation’s peace, security, and the lives and property of all citizens. We encourage everyone to uphold safety regulations, beginning with personal responsibility, and to fully respect the law,” the statement said.
The police also assured Tanzanians that they can continue their lawful activities without fear, noting that security has strengthened nationwide thanks to the strong cooperation between communities and law enforcement agencies in promoting peace, stability, and safety.
