The Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office (Labour, Employment and Industrial Relations), Deus Sangu, has commended the Workers’ Compensation Fund (WCF) for its significant progress in improving service delivery to citizens, especially workers affected by workplace accidents and occupational diseases.
Speaking in Dodoma on December 10, 2025, after meeting with the WCF Management Team, Minister Sangu said the reforms undertaken by the Fund reflect the Sixth-Phase Government’s commitment under President Samia Suluhu Hassan to ensuring that public institutions provide timely, reliable, and people-centered services.
He noted that more workers are now receiving support without unnecessary delays, and that the improved systems have strengthened public confidence in the Fund.
“Workers who face difficulties while performing their duties deserve quick and fair support, and WCF has shown real progress in meeting this expectation,” he said.
Minister Sangu also encouraged WCF to continue embracing innovation, particularly through digital transformation, enhanced service delivery mechanisms, and wider use of modern technology.
He said these improvements will help the Fund reach more citizens efficiently and reduce procedural hurdles for claimants.
Deputy Minister for Labour, Employment and Industrial Relations, Rahma Kisuo, called on the Fund to expand public education campaigns so that more workers and employers understand the services WCF offers.
She said the Fund should leverage media platforms, community forums, and stakeholder engagements to ensure accurate information reaches all corners of the country.
WCF Director General, Dr. John Mduma, assured the Government that the Fund remains focused on strengthening its service systems.
He emphasized that compensation claims will continue to be processed with greater transparency, speed, and professionalism to meet the needs of workers and their families.
