Arusha Regional Commissioner (RC) CPA Amos Gabriel Makalla has commended residents for rejecting the planned December 9, 2025 demonstrations, highlighting the importance of peace as a foundation for social and economic development.

Addressing the public on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, during an inspection tour at Kilombero Market in Arusha City, RC Makalla praised citizens for their commitment to stability, noting that their actions sent a strong message both nationally and internationally about Arusha’s dedication to peace.

He reassured the public that the government and security forces remain vigilant in protecting peace and public safety across the region.

“The world has witnessed, and Tanzanians have proven, that when we choose to uphold peace, we succeed. Those who intended to create unrest were unsuccessful. Tanzanians value peace and are not accustomed to demonstrations that disrupt harmony,” Makalla said.

He also stressed the importance of residents remaining focused on economic and social activities, noting that prosperity is built on a secure and stable environment.

RC Makalla reiterated that security agencies in Arusha are fully prepared to prevent any actions that threaten peace or public order, warning that those attempting to engage in violence or criminal activities will face strict measures.

RC Makalla called on citizens to make the culture of protecting peace a permanent practice, emphasizing that long-term development and prosperity are only possible in a peaceful society.

This message reinforces the government’s commitment to fostering a safe environment where residents can thrive economically and socially, while discouraging actions that could threaten the harmony of the region.
