Yanga SC have landed in Algeria with clear intent and renewed confidence ahead of their second CAF Champions League group-stage match against JS Kabylie, scheduled for this Friday.
The Tanzanian champions enter the crucial away fixture buoyed by their 1–0 win over AS FAR Rabat in Dar es Salaam, a result that placed them second in their group with three points and strengthened their early campaign momentum.
According to Yanga’s Communications Officer, Ally Kamwe, the team is fully prepared—both mentally and physically to fight for maximum points despite anticipating a tough challenge from the Algerian hosts.
“We are heading into another demanding match against JS Kabylie, and our ambition is to compete and win,” Kamwe said.
“There will be pressure because our opponents are coming from a 4–1 defeat to Al Ahly, and they will want to respond strongly.”he added
He added that Yanga also carry their own motivation, driven by the desire to maintain a strong start in the group stage.
“We need positive results as well, so pressure is part of football. Our focus is to stay disciplined and deliver.”
Kamwe emphasised that Yanga’s broader objective is to continue building a solid record in the Champions League and increase their chances of advancing to the knockout phase.
“Our target is to win this match. We will be proud if we keep performing at this level and push into the later stages of the competition,” he said.
Friday’s match is expected to produce intense competition, with Yanga determined to extend their impressive form and demonstrate their growing stature in African club football.
