Six candidates seeking leadership positions within the Tanzania Volleyball Federation (TVF) have successfully passed the first stage of vetting ahead of the federation’s general election, set for December 21 in Dodoma.
TVF Election Committee Chairperson, Pius Joseph, confirmed that seven applications were submitted, but one candidate was disqualified for failing to meet the eligibility criteria for the presidential position.
Among the approved candidates, Magoti Mtani will contest for President, while Saumu Agapa is vying for Vice President. Julieth Julius and Mwajuma Issa were cleared to run for the Women’s Board seats, and Auxillius Audax and Julius Kisageto will compete for the Men’s Board positions.
“Following the announcement of the approved candidates, the committee is now receiving written objections. The process began yesterday and will close today at 4 p.m.,” Joseph said.
He added that candidates have the right to appeal in line with Article 12 of the TVF Election Regulations. Appeals can be submitted in writing via the federation’s official email from December 7 to December 9.
