Tanzania Electric Supply Company (TANESCO) customers are currently facing challenges in purchasing electricity (LUKU) through mobile apps, agents, and banking platforms, causing frustration for households and businesses alike.
TANESCO confirmed that the disruption is linked to a technical fault in the Government Electronic Payment Gateway (GePG) system.
The company said it is working closely with GePG specialists to restore normal services as quickly as possible.
Speaking on the matter, TANESCO urged GePG experts to prioritize the resolution, stressing the need to minimize inconvenience for customers who depend on reliable electricity for daily life and business operations.
The company assured the public that updates will be provided regularly, and services will resume fully once the issue is resolved.
TANESCO also reminded customers to check official channels for timely information during the disruption.
