Young scouts in Kaliua District, Tabora, have been promised potential employment in national security forces, reflecting the government’s strategy to nurture disciplined youth as future leaders.
The pledge is tied to their performance in final examinations, signaling an effort to link education, civic responsibility, and career pathways.
In addition to this pledge, the scouts received cash rewards and scout uniforms from the district government as a token of appreciation for their dedication during the recent “Mwenge wa Uhuru” event.
Speaking during the ceremony, Dr. Gerald Mongella, District Commissioner of Kaliua, said the district is committed to nurturing the scouts and providing them with more opportunities beyond the Mwenge wa Uhuru initiative.
“I, together with my team, will ensure that these young scouts secure other roles beyond the Mwenge wa Uhuru,” he stated.
Dr. Mongella also presented the scouts with uniforms and an undisclosed cash amount, praising their discipline and strong character displayed during the event.
“I want to tell these young people that we value them not just with words but through actions. Keep serving as scouts with dedication,” he added.
Shabani Abdallah, District Executive Director of Kaliua, confirmed the scouts’ patriotism and promised to help them find positions in other security institutions.
“I know that with your dedication, you should aim high and consider joining the police, prisons, People’s Defence Force, immigration, fire and rescue services,” he said, urging the scouts to make informed career choices.
The scouts expressed gratitude and pledged to remain disciplined and loyal.
Eston Ulaya Constantine, a scout from Kaliua, thanked the district leadership and said he is ready to join any of the security forces.
“I am prepared to join the police, prisons, People’s Defence Force, immigration, or fire and rescue services. I am determined to be a true patriot and serve my country,” he said.
Nassibu Ally, a recent school graduate and scout, also expressed his appreciation for the opportunity and pledged to serve wherever assigned.
“I am very pleased and I encourage my fellow youth to continue joining the scouts because it is an important foundation for military and leadership training,” he said.
