Singida Black Stars are set to depart Tanzania on Friday, October 17, for Burundi, where they will face Flambeau du Centre in the first leg of the CAF Confederation Cup preliminary round. The match is scheduled to take place on October 19 in Bujumbura.
The travelling squad will include both players and members of the technical bench, accompanied by a group of dedicated supporters who will make the journey to cheer on their team and provide much-needed motivation as they seek a positive result away from home.
Speaking earlier today while en route to Dar es Salaam, the club’s spokesperson, Hussein Massanza, said the team will conduct its final training session tomorrow in the city before their departure.
“Our final preparations will take place tomorrow at the KMC Complex in Kinondoni the same venue where we lifted the CECAFA title. We want to train there again for good luck before we travel,” Massanza said.
He noted that the team’s preparations have been progressing well under Head Coach Miguel Gamondi and his technical staff, who have worked tirelessly to ensure that the players are mentally and physically ready for the continental challenge.
Massanza added that the club has played several friendly matches in recent weeks, which have helped the coaching team assess performance levels and address key weaknesses ahead of the upcoming fixture.
He also encouraged supporters eager to travel with the team to act quickly, noting that only a few slots remain.
“We have partnered with our stakeholders to organize transport for fans who wish to accompany the team to Burundi. It’s a great opportunity to show our unity and support,” he said.
The Singida-based side will be looking to secure an advantage in the first leg before hosting Flambeau du Centre in Tanzania, as they aim to advance to the next stage of the CAF Confederation Cup.
