Authorities intensify road safety inspections to protect drivers

By The Respondent Reporter

The Ministry of Works, in collaboration with TANROADS and the Police, is stepping up inspections of high-risk areas across the country’s major road network to safeguard drivers and passengers.

The current focus is on the TANZAM corridor, stretching from Dar es Salaam to Songwe via Morogoro (Mikumi), with plans to cover other road sections soon.

The inspections bring together road safety experts from the Ministry, TANROADS, the Police Road Safety Unit, and other key stakeholders.

They will identify sections prone to frequent accidents and propose practical solutions for the short, medium, and long term.

These measures aim to reduce crashes, injuries, and fatalities, ensuring safer travel for all road users.
