Tanzania’s National Parks become hubs for learning and investment

By The Respondent Reporter

Tanzania’s national parks are increasingly attracting domestic visitors beyond traditional tourism, as public officials and institutions use them as platforms for professional learning and exploring investment opportunities.

On September 11, 2025, a delegation from the Office of the Chief Justice, the Labour Court, the Commercial Court, the Land Court, lawyers, the Drug Control Authority, and the Police Force visited Tarangire National Park.

They were received by Northern Zone Chief, Deputy Commissioner of Conservation Steria Ndaga, and the park’s Senior Assistant Commissioner of Conservation Beatrice Kessy.

The visit offered participants practical insights into conservation, the economic potential of Tanzania’s natural resources, and opportunities for investment in the tourism sector.

Experts note that such initiatives highlight a growing trend in which domestic tourism doubles as a tool for capacity building and economic development.

By turning national parks into centers for learning and investment exploration, TANAPA is promoting sustainable conservation while boosting domestic revenue and encouraging Tanzanians to engage more actively with the nation’s heritage.
