The President of the Tanzania Paralympic Committee (TPC), Tuma Dandi, is set to be the chief guest at the opening of a table tennis training program for people with disabilities, scheduled from September 18 to 25 at Mkapa Hall in Dar es Salaam.
The program is organized by the World Parasports Institute in partnership with the Tanzania Table Tennis Association (TTTA).
Speaking to The Respondent Online, the Institute’s Director, Mosses Mabula, said all preparations have been completed and international coach Mian Absar Ali from Pakistan has arrived in Tanzania to lead the sessions.
“The training will benefit 16 participants with disabilities and aims to prepare them for international competitions. We are seeing strong talent emerging in this sport, opening new opportunities for athletes, just like the Tembo Warriors did before,” Mabula said.
He added that the training focuses not only on developing table tennis skills but also on life skills, professionalism, and strategic planning for the sport.
A key goal is to prepare athletes for the 2028 Paralympic Games in Los Angeles, USA.
