The National Volleyball League (TVNL) second round opened with fireworks at MwembeYanga grounds in Dar es Salaam, as KIUT, Bandari, and Genesis stamped their authority with convincing victories.
In the women’s category, KIUT overcame Korosho Queens 3–1 in a thrilling contest, while Bandari proved too strong for Notorious, cruising to a straight 3–0 win.
The men’s matches were equally intense. Genesis swept aside IP Sports with a commanding 3–0 victory, Nyika battled hard to edge Moro Warriors 3–1, and Bandari dismantled High Voltage 3–0 in another one-sided clash.
Tanzania Volleyball Federation (TVF) League Board Chairman, Riziki Godwin, praised the competitiveness of the fixtures, noting that the league had entered an exciting phase.
“The second round has started with high intensity. Teams are well-prepared and determined to fight for playoff positions. Genesis, who topped the standings in the first round, have once again made a strong statement,” Godwin said.
The second round will run until September 23, after which the top teams will qualify for the playoffs leading to the finals.
Today’s fixtures promise more action, with Genesis taking on High Voltage, Bandari facing Moro Warriors, and Best Six squaring off against Nyika.
In the women’s games, Notorious will battle KIUT, while Bandari host Korosho Queens.
With the early results setting the tone, fans can expect heightened drama as teams jostle for playoff spots in Tanzania’s premier volleyball competition.
