Residents of Mbalizi Town in Mbeya are now enjoying improved access to water, thanks to government investments under President Samia Suluhu Hassan’s leadership.
Women, who previously carried heavy water containers over long distances, are among the biggest beneficiaries.
Suma Fyandomo, the Special Seats MP for Mbeya Region, hailed the Sixth Phase Government for implementing water projects that have eased the daily burden of local women.
Speaking at a campaign rally on September 4 in Mbalizi, Fyandomo said, “The President has truly lifted the weight off women’s heads by providing clean and accessible water. These initiatives have transformed everyday life for families here.”
He also highlighted improvements in healthcare services, noting that new health centers and dispensaries built under President Samia’s 4R Agenda are bringing essential medical services closer to residents.
Meanwhile, Mbeya Rural parliamentary candidate Patali Shida urged the government to improve road infrastructure and grant Mbalizi full municipal status.
He emphasized that better roads and administrative upgrades would boost agricultural productivity, allowing locals to engage more effectively in food production and trade.
The government’s focus on water, health, and infrastructure reflects a broader effort to improve living conditions and empower communities, particularly women, across the region.
