Preparations are in full swing as drivers gear up for the upcoming African Rally Championship in Morogoro.
The Mkwawa team, led by experienced driver Samir Nahdi, has started training at the Gymkhana grounds to ensure top performance in the international event.
Speaking during the practice sessions, drivers said they are ready to compete and aim to deliver strong results.
Local rally champion Ahmed Huwel said he is determined to perform better than in domestic competitions, relying on a modern and competitive vehicle.
“This rally is organized at an international level and will attract tough competition from countries including Kenya, Rwanda, Uganda, Burundi, and India. We are well-prepared,” Huwel said.
Drivers also called on Tanzanians and rally fans to attend the event and enjoy the action.
Residents of Morogoro expressed excitement about the rally, saying it will inspire young sports enthusiasts and boost local interest in motor racing.
“I always follow car competitions across the country. This event is well-organized and promises a lot of excitement,” said Lameck Jonson, a local rally fan.
