Vice President of Tanzania, Dr. Philip Mpango, arrived in Antananarivo, Madagascar, today, August 15, 2025, where he was welcomed by Madagascar’s Prime Minister, Christian Ntsay, at Ivato International Airport.
Dr. Mpango is representing President Samia Suluhu Hassan at the 45th Southern African Development Community (SADC) Heads of State and Government Summit, scheduled from August 15 to 17, 2025.
The summit will gather regional leaders to discuss pressing political, economic, and social issues in the SADC region.
Key topics will include regional integration, economic growth, and peace and security initiatives, as leaders seek collaborative solutions for sustainable development in Southern Africa.
This visit underscores Tanzania’s commitment to active regional engagement and strengthening partnerships within SADC.
