The presidential race in Tanzania officially saw a new entrant today as Haji Ambar Khamis, the NCCR-MAGEUZI candidate, alongside his running mate, Dr. Eveline Wilbard Munisi, collected their nomination forms from the National Electoral Commission (NEC).
The forms were handed over by NEC Chairman, Justice of the Court of Appeal Jacobs Mwambegele, in a ceremony that marked the formal start of their journey towards the Union’s highest offices.
Khamis and Dr. Munisi will now prepare for the official selection process, which the Commission has scheduled for August 27, 2025. NEC Election Director, Mr. Ramadhan Kailima, was also present during the handover.
Addressing the candidates and the media, Chairman Mwambegele highlighted the importance of adhering to electoral procedures to maintain transparency and fairness throughout the nomination process.
Hon. Haji Ambar Khamis, accompanied by Dr. Eveline Munisi, expressed gratitude to the Commission and reaffirmed their commitment to engaging Tanzanians in a campaign focused on unity, development, and reform.
With their nomination forms officially in hand, NCCR-MAGEUZI now joins the growing list of contenders in the 2025 presidential race, setting the stage for what promises to be a competitive and closely watched election.
