Vice President Dr. Philip Mpango has applauded the Tanzania Agricultural Development Bank (TADB) for playing a catalytic role in transforming the agricultural sector by providing low-interest loans to smallholder farmers.
Speaking during the official opening of the national NaneNane exhibitions in Dodoma on August 1, 2025, Dr. Mpango said the bank’s support has enabled farmers, especially youth and women to access modern agricultural tools and improve productivity.
“TADB has done a commendable job. I urge the bank to continue expanding its services to reach more Tanzanians and accelerate inclusive economic growth,” said the Vice President after visiting the TADB pavilion.
He noted that the bank’s interventions have not only boosted individual incomes but also contributed to national food security and rural development.
TADB’s concessional financing model aligns with the government’s broader policy agenda of transforming agriculture into a competitive and sustainable economic sector.
Dr. Mpango said supporting rural populations through affordable credit is essential for creating employment and reducing poverty.
This year’s NaneNane exhibitions, held at the Nzuguni grounds in Dodoma, serve as a platform for stakeholders in agriculture to showcase innovations, technologies, and financing solutions that can drive sector-wide change.
