Polisi Tanzania Football Club has outlined its ambition to return to the NBC Premier League in the upcoming 2025/2026 season, as the team intensifies preparations for a competitive campaign in the NBC Championship.
Once a top-flight contender, Polisi Tanzania is now determined to reclaim its place among the elite clubs in Tanzanian football.
As part of its early preparations, the club has appointed experienced coach Mbwana Makata on a two-year contract to lead the technical bench.
Speaking to The Respondent Online, Commissioner of Community Police and club chairman, CP Faustine Shilogile, said the team is focused on laying a solid foundation to ensure success next season.
“We have started our preparations by appointing a head coach, and the next step will be to recruit quality players who can help us meet our target of returning to the Premier League,” CP Shilogile explained.
He emphasized that the player recruitment process will be driven by the technical team, led by Coach Makata, who will assess the squad and identify key areas for improvement.
“The coach will take the lead in identifying the team’s weaknesses. Once he finalizes his assessment, we’ll move forward with signing players who match our ambitions,” he added.
Makata is no stranger to Polisi Tanzania. He previously guided the team to Premier League promotion in the 2018/2019 season and is now expected to replicate that success.
His return signals a renewed sense of purpose within the club, with management confident that his experience and familiarity with the team will be instrumental in building a promotion-worthy squad.
With the coaching position filled and strategic plans underway, Polisi Tanzania is gearing up for a decisive season that could see the club restore its Premier League status and reestablish itself as a force in Tanzanian football.
