Minister of State in the Vice President’s Office (Union and Environment), Eng. Hamad Yussuf Masauni, has officially entered the race to retain his parliamentary seat for Kikwajuni constituency ahead of the October 2025 General Election.
Mr Masauni collected nomination forms on June 30 from the Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) District Secretary for Mjini, Mr Bilal Hussein Maulid, signaling his intent to seek the party’s endorsement for another term.
A seasoned politician and cabinet minister, Mr Masauni said his decision to vie for re-election is driven by his commitment to continue advancing socio-economic development in Kikwajuni and supporting the broader national agenda under the sixth-phase government.
“I remain dedicated to delivering meaningful results to the people of Kikwajuni and contributing to our party’s goals for prosperity and unity,” he said shortly after completing the nomination process.
His move comes as CCM intensifies preparations for internal nomination processes across the country, with both new aspirants and incumbents lining up to seek the party’s blessing.
The competition is expected to be stiff as the ruling party positions itself for another victory in the upcoming general elections.
