TMA forecasts sunny intervals and scattered rain across regions

The Tanzania Meteorological Authority (TMA) has issued a 24-hour weather forecast indicating varied weather patterns across the country, with isolated thundershowers expected in parts of the Lake Zone.

According to the bulletin, the regions of Kagera and Mara are forecast to experience partly cloudy conditions with thundershowers in a few areas, accompanied by sunny intervals. 

Other parts of the Lake Zone, including Mwanza, Geita, Simiyu and Shinyanga, are expected to have partly cloudy skies and sunny periods.

In the northern coastal areas comprising Dar es Salaam, Tanga, and Pwani Region (including Mafia Island) as well as Unguja and Pemba isles, light rain showers are anticipated in isolated areas, with the rest of the day remaining mostly sunny.

Central regions such as Dodoma and Singida, along with Kigoma, Tabora, and Katavi in the west, are predicted to experience partly cloudy conditions and long periods of sunshine. 

The southern regions of Morogoro, Lindi, and Mtwara are also expected to enjoy mostly dry and sunny weather.

In the northeast highlands Arusha, Manyara, and Kilimanjaro partly cloudy conditions with sunny spells are expected.

 Similarly, the southern highlands, which include Ruvuma, Iringa, Njombe, Rukwa, Songwe, and Mbeya, will see mostly clear skies and sunshine throughout the day.

Temperatures across major cities will range widely, with Mbeya recording the lowest minimum temperature at 8°C and Zanzibar experiencing the highest minimum at 23°C. 

The highest daytime temperature is expected in Tabora and Tanga at 29°C, while Njombe will remain the coolest during the day at just 16°C.

Sunrise will occur between 06:34am and 07:11am across the regions, with sunset expected between 18:19pm and 19:01pm. Coastal winds are forecast to blow from the southeast at a speed of 30 km/h, with moderate sea conditions expected.

A further outlook for Sunday, July 13, 2025, suggests slight changes in weather patterns may occur. The forecast was issued by the Tanzania Meteorological Authority from its headquarters at the University of Dodoma.
