Laziz Bakery has made headlines at the 49th Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair (DITF), popularly known as Sabasaba, by unveiling what is now considered the largest cake ever baked in East Africa—measuring three tonnes.
The cake, which has drawn thousands of visitors to the company's pavilion, is not only remarkable for its size but also for the message it carries.
Designed to reflect Tanzania’s development journey, the cake features themes that celebrate the country’s major investments in infrastructure, health, education, and industry.
Laziz Bakery Limited Managing Director, Hamza Muzammil, said the initiative is a tribute to the progress made under the Sixth Phase Government, and a creative way of showcasing the positive environment for business and investment in the country.
“Our aim was to reflect the achievements that have been made possible through the government’s support to the private sector,” said Mr Muzammil.
Food brand ambassador and popular entertainer Mwijaku, who joined the unveiling, said the cake sends a strong message of support for national development.“This shows how the private sector can creatively engage in promoting economic growth and encouraging investment, both locally and internationally,” he said.
