Businessman and CCM member Salum Kinyoro, popularly known as 'Kibakuli', has picked up nomination forms to contest the Handeni Town parliamentary seat in the upcoming 2025 General Election.
Kinyoro collected the forms at the ruling party’s district office in Handeni, officially entering the race for the CCM primaries. His move is seen as part of a growing wave of young and development-focused candidates seeking leadership roles.
He said his decision to run was driven by the desire to deliver practical solutions to the challenges facing residents of Handeni. These include limited access to clean water, poor health services, and youth unemployment.
“I want to bring new energy, transparency, and inclusive leadership that responds to the real needs of the people,” Kinyoro told reporters after picking the forms.
Known for his involvement in community development, Kinyoro has supported several local initiatives in education and public health. His entry into the race has generated excitement, especially among the youth and business community.CCM continues to receive applications from aspiring candidates across the country as it prepares for internal nominations.
If nominated, Kinyoro is expected to campaign on a platform focused on inclusive development and accountable leadership.
