JKT Queens Football Club has intensified its training sessions in preparation for the upcoming CECAFA Women’s Club Championship, scheduled to take place in Tanzania this September.

Speaking to The Respondent Online, JKT Queens' Communications Officer, Masau Bwire, confirmed that the team began preparations immediately after being crowned champions of the Tanzania Women’s Premier League for the 2024/2025 season.

“Our preparations started the moment we secured the league title, knowing that CECAFA was our next challenge. We are already in camp,” said Bwire.

He added that players not currently engaged with the national team, Twiga Stars, have reported to camp, while those on national duty will join the squad as soon as they complete their assignments.

Bwire emphasized that the club’s objective is not merely to participate, but to compete fiercely and win the regional title, noting that JKT Queens is no stranger to the CECAFA stage.

“Our goal is not just to show up — we want to win. This is not our first appearance, and we believe we have what it takes to bring the trophy home,” he said.

The CECAFA Women's Club Championship will bring together top women’s football clubs from East and Central Africa, making it one of the most competitive regional tournaments in the continent.
