Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) cadre Lekoko Ngitiri has officially declared his intention to contest for the Simanjiro parliamentary seat in the upcoming general election, after collecting nomination forms to seek the party's endorsement.
Ngitiri, who has served within the party’s internal structures for nearly five years, said his decision was driven by a strong desire to build upon the development foundations laid by his predecessors.
Speaking shortly after completing the nomination process, Ngitiri emphasized the importance of continuity in leadership to sustain progress in the constituency.
“This is the time to consolidate and advance the achievements made by former Members of Parliament,” he said. “My focus is on ensuring that the people of Simanjiro continue to benefit from effective representation and meaningful development.”
Ngitiri's grassroots political background and growing influence within CCM are expected to add momentum to the ruling party’s preparations ahead of the 2025 polls. His entry into the race sets the stage for a competitive nomination process as CCM evaluates potential candidates to carry its flag in Simanjiro.
Simanjiro, a vast constituency in Manyara Region, has long been seen as a strategic area for political and economic advancement, with calls for enhanced infrastructure, access to social services, and sustainable development remaining top on the agenda for aspirants.
